I have to admit when I saw the job advertised and it was linked to a recruitment agency I hesitated to apply given my past experience with other recruitment companies but Hobson Recruitment is what all recruitment companies should be aspiring to be like. It was nice to be asked about what I would like and to discuss my career with Dan. I felt comfortable explaining the frustrations of my previous positions to Dan. I can't explain how good it felt to have someone understand me. I take pride in my work and have been dealt a few rough blows so it was nice to felt understood.Dan kept in touch at every step, I even got a 'good luck' text just before I stepped into my interview. He wanted to know how I felt about the interview and the interviewees too and the very next day Dan had touched base with the employer and then by late morning he had offered me the job. Today, 17th Aug 2021, Dan even called to see how 'handing my resignation in' went. Again it was so nice to talk to someone because it wasn't a pleasant task. Again Dan picked me up and cemented why I had chosen to leave that business.Lastly, and one impressive fact for me, is that Hobson recruitment actually interview the company requesting their services and interview 2-3 staff about their roles, their working conditions, managers etc (after signing a waiver that everything is kept confidential of course). I recently started thinking that it was time for a new challenge in my career. I had been in my current role for the past 4 years and felt i had gone as far as I could go in the role. I put my resume on seek and within a couple of days I was approached by Dan from Hobson Recruitment. After having submitted a CV in response to a position advertised within the aged care sector, Dan contacted me immediately to introduce himself and discuss the role I had expressed an interest in. We spent over 30 minutes discussing my experience, skills, background and how these may be relevant to the role and Dan then took time to reflect on my skills and explain why he thought I would make a key contribution to the organisation and the role I was applying for. Within the short time we had met over the phone, he had captured quite important information about my work experience and what he perceived were my strengths and he took the time to validate these to me. Personally, I felt that this was a critical part of the recruitment stage as a candidate, to be validated for how I could make a difference as a potential employee.
